Frank Almendra (Austin, TX) is a Brazilian musician living in the US since 1994 that delivers talent, diversity, grace and a multitude of rhythms in his songwriting. Writing songs both in English and Portuguese, he is a member of many local Brazilian music acts in town and other music styles as well, performing live on a weekly basis. Also works as studio session man. Plays and writes on acoustic, electric guitars, cavaquinho ( 4 string ) and Brazilian viola ( 10 string ). Deftly skating between genres, Frank uses all his music background from his native Brazil mixed with his love for American music to deliver recordings and performances that make audiences ask for more.

The Long Fox Project: Instrumental World Music duo project highlighting Frank’s composition on Brazilian Viola, along with Michael Longoria on Percussion.
A Maré: An Afoxé trio that makes a musical journey through the Caribbean, Cape Verde, Western Africa and Brazil.
Canoa: World / Folk / Brazilian music, also for smaller venues, a music experimentation adventure fusing diverse music and rhythm influences.
